Gary Shotton

Founder

Growing up on a farm and ranch, Gary learned at an early age the value of hard work and gained a thorough understanding of many business principles.  He graduated with a BS in engineering and worked for a large oil company for nearly a decade until he and his wife, Cindy, felt the call of God to attend a 2-year Bible school in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

God opened the door for him to not only grasp a deeper understanding of God’s Word, but also to immediately put that knowledge into action as he and his wife launched their first business.  For the next 17 years Gary worked hard, growing from zero to over a hundred employees and serving thousands of clients around the world.

Always a student, Gary continued to learn and grow throughout his business ventures in the following years, including owning a manufacturing company, developing real estate, and launching an organic farm.  Every step of the way, he was determined to share what he learned with others, in hopes that his failures and successes would help to raise up financially stable entrepreneurs around the world.  This led him, nearly four decades ago, to establish an international non-profit organization that focusses on Biblically based business education.  Gary has taught in over 35 countries and has developed teaching materials in multiple languages.

The driving force behind everything that Gary does is a love for God, a thankfulness for Jesus’ sacrifice, and a desire to serve others.  When he’s not teaching and mentoring entrepreneurs, you can find him spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids, volunteering at his local church, or tending to his farm.

Daniel Matlach

Director of Operations

Daniel Matlach carries a zest for life and a unique blend of business experience. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business, he started and grew his first company. On the heels of the sale of that business, he began his next endeavor in the realm of real estate. His love for God and a desire to serve led him to go on a number of international missions trips. Seeing and experiencing the economic desperation in developing nations grabbed his heart and set his future in motion. For the seven years before joining IBB, he worked on a team that helped national and international non-profits raise funds and awareness by creating TV shows, commercials, and digital campaigns. Always learning and ready to serve, he’s excited to be focused on Inspiring Better Business around the world.

Throughout this journey of business and missions, there’s one tribe that truly holds his heart: his wife and four (rambunctious!) kids.

Ted Abrams

Ted Abrams is sometimes referred to as a “walking encyclopedia” for the wealth of knowledge he commands.  Ted co-founded a consulting firm that delivers advisory services to energy and utility investors https://abramswireless.com . Currently, firm clients show interest in 5G wireless and dark fiber infrastructure. When he’s not solving block chain equations in his head, you’ll find Ted enjoying time with Barb, his wife of 51 years. He loves God and has a passion to see others empowered to become financially stable entrepreneurs using the Biblically based materials of Inspiring Better Business.

Tommy Fellers

Tommy owns and operates a full-service auto repair facility.  Years of being a hands-on entrepreneur, managing employees, and serving thousands of clients every year have all combined to give him a wealth of business knowledge.  He loves God and is always looking for opportunities to help people, whether that’s with their car, their business, or their spiritual health.

Octavian Msongamwanja

Octavian brings both personal and professional experiences to alleviating poverty. He grew up in a rural Tanzania with few economic resources and many barriers to overcome. For over 15 years, he has worked with non-
profit organizations and corporations in East Africa and the United States. He is passionate about helping people start, grow, and excel in business and improve personally through coaching, training, and mentorship. He has an MBA and a BA in Community Development

Joel Zimmer

Joel has over two decades of IT experience in building business automation systems across large scale industries like healthcare and manufacturing.  In his early years, he worked in his family’s Christian radio station producing broadcasts.  It was there that he witnessed the power of a changed mindset, himself changing from a “poverty mindset” to a “provision mindset”.  Now he’s passionate to help others grasp the practical principles outlined in God’s Laws for Business.
